The geologicall fault at Podčetrtek has produced a source of thermal spring which have been utilized for quite some time. The first ideas for using the springs for medicinal purposes arose in the early 20th. In the 1950 s the water the temperature of which ranges between 30 and 37 C was analayzed for medicinal qualitiesunder the insistence of the parish priest.
